Abu Sa'id David ben Boaz - Account of his life

Abu Sa'id David ben Boaz lived in the tenth century. According to a genealogical list compiled by Pinsker, ben Boaz was in the fifth generation of descent from Anan ben David. According to David Ibn al-Hiti, ben Boaz composed his commentary on Qohelet in the year 383 of the Hegira (993), and was mentioned even after Levi ben Yafet. This being the case ben Boaz may be dated to the end of the tenth century. The works of ben Boaz's works mentioned by Ibn al-Hiti are as follows: A commentary on Qohelet, a commentary on the Torah, and a book on the principles of religion. Many of his works survive in manuscript form today.
