David ibn al-Hitti - Account of his Life

David ibn al-Hitti was a native of Hit on the Euphrates, who lived in the second quarter of the fifteenth century. He appears to have settled in Egypt, where he lived as a scholar. The only known work of David ibn al-Hitti is a concise chronicle of Karaite scholars. His work is of importance because of the names of other Karaite scholars he preserves, of which no mention is found anywhere else, and because of the sources he quotes which, as the names, are found no where else. Nothing else is known of his life.
